A note from the meeting organizers: We recommend booking your hotel room as soon as possible—June is peak tourist season, and we expect our blocks of discounted rooms (equivalent to the federal per diem rate) to fill up fast.

If you already have have a Member Portal username and password (e.g., you are a current or previous member of AOS or one of the other OSNA societies), you can navigate directly to the relevant submission form using the link above (you will be redirected to the registration page after logging in).

Don’t have a Member Portal account or you are not sure?

If you do not already have a username and password, you will first need to set up your free account from the Member Portal login page. Click the “Create a User Account” on the left side of the login page.

If you are not sure if you have an existing account, click the “Forgot your password? Click here” link on the left side of the page and then enter your email address on the following page. If you have an existing account with that email address, the system will send you a link to reset your password.

Once you have your account established, you can navigate to the event registration form by selecting the AOS 2019 meeting in the Events section on the right of the screen.

*Special Countries / Alaska Natives / First Nations Membership
The AOS offers memberships to individuals of many countries around the world at the discounted rate of $32 per year. Special Country memberships are not offered to residents of the United States, Canada, Israel, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and the following Western European countries: Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Spain, and Portugal, with the exception of Alaska Natives and First Nations peoples. AOS assumes registrants of Special Countries who are not already members of the AOS are a member of an ornithological society in their region.

**One-Day Registration

One-day registrants must wear their badge for access to the conference programs and qualifying events.

  • All scientific program sessions and non-ticketed training workshops being held that day (one-day registrants may purchase tickets to fee-based workshops separately)
  • Networking events and refreshment breaks being held that day
  • Opening reception or closing event, if applicable

***Companion/Guest Information
Companions/guests of meeting registrants must be registered and wear their badge for access to the conference programs and qualifying events.  

Registration Fees for Attendees and Companion Guests Include:

  • Attendance at plenary, concurrent, and poster sessions
  • Evening keynote speaker on Tuesday, June 25
  • Opening reception and closing event
  • Evening networking events, including Student and Early Professional social
  • Program book with session listings and schedule
  • All refreshment breaks

Note: Companion/Guest badges DO NOT include access to educational/ training workshops or other paid events/activities (e.g. Ostrich Fun Run). During online registration, Companion/guests may sign up and pay for any of these activities. Tickets may also be purchased anytime online through the registration portal as long as space is available for the activity.

METHODS OF PAYMENT ACCEPTED

Registrants may pay directly online with a credit card, or may request to pay by invoice or purchase order. AOS accepts payment in US dollars; options below.

  • Credit Card
  • Check made out to American Ornithological Society (checks must be drawn from US or Canada banking institutions)
  • Wire Transfer (contact the AOS Office for instructions; cruiz@americanornithology.org, 312-883-4645).
  • Paying with multiple cards is permitted; full instructions are in the registration portal.

Member registration rates are based on a 2019 AOS membership with an expiration date of 12/31/19 or greater.

CANCELLATION POLICY
If you find it necessary to cancel your registration, we are able to refund your conference fee costs (less a $55.00 USD processing fee) if we receive notice on or before 11 June 2019. Refunds will be processed at the time of cancellation.
Refunds on registration fees will not be issued for cancellations received after 11 June 2019 or for “no-show” registrants for any reason. If you registered online, you can cancel your registration before 11 June 2019 by emailing or contacting the AOS Office at cruiz@americanornithology.org; 312-883-4645. If you do not receive a confirmation notification within 72-hours of submitting your request, please contact us to confirm receipt of your request.

SUBSTITUTION POLICY
Substitutions will not be accepted regardless of circumstance. Please cancel the registration and book a new registration.

ACCOMMODATIONS
Registration fees do not include accommodations. The AOS has reserved a block of rooms at the Hilton Anchorage and the Quality Suites Historic Downtown, centrally located in downtown Anchorage. To receive group rates, reservations should be made no later than 1 June 2019, but sooner is advised because of the demand during the busy tourist season. More information on hotel options, including the instructions to receive the AOS group rate on rooms at the Hilton and Quality Suites, can be found on the Accommodations page of the meeting website.

Cancellation of hotel reservations and other accommodations are subject to the specific policies and cut off dates of the hotel or any other accommodation type.

VOLUNTEERS
The AOS seeks volunteers for a variety of important jobs throughout the entire meeting (presentation room support, registration desk, etc.). Volunteers will be able to enjoy a reduced registration cost to attend the conference. There is no better way to network and engage than to volunteer at the annual conference!
